Vermicomposting

A collection of worms is called a herd. The worms consume and digest organic residue gathered from the farm. The finished compost is screened for uniformity. The collected castings are pure fertilizer. We mix the worm castings with composted horse manure and coir fiber for our planting mix. This day we collected about 4 gallons of worm castings and mixed about 20 cf of potting soil.
